Welcome to my Website!

I've decided to make my website based on one of my all time favorite games, Red Dead Redemption. Published by Rockstar Games, the setting is based in the western era, and you play as a bounty hunter by the name of John Marston. Once, a criminal, he's changed his ways after being taken away from his family by the Bureau of Investigation. In order to be reunited with his family, he must kill the remaining members of his gang. After attempting bringing justice upon them, he is shot down by one of his old friends in that gang, and later on saved by a bunch of townspeople. Bonnie Mcfarlane, is a lady that lives in Mcfarlane's Ranch, where John is later taken to aide his shotgun wound.

After the intro, it's up to you wether or not you want to do good deeds, or dirty deeds. The game is very interactive, you can do quests, side quests, and the little small things, such as saving people along the way. you are in control of your character's fate! Personally, I love this game, mainly because of the fact that I can control my character. Many Rockstar Games are quite violent, and don't allow much control over your character's alias, such as Grand Theft Auto. In my opinion, Red Dead Redemption is one of the greatest games Rockstar Games could've invented. I just love the western theme, and how they included it into a video game; it's badass!

Overall, if I had to rate RDR against GTAV Online based on my interest and experiences, I'd say RDR wins by a far mile.

Favorite factors from the game

  1. The soundtrack
  2. The graphics
  3. The main character himself, and his personality.
  4. and, the multiplayer option in the game

1: The soundtrack.

My #1 favorite factor of the game is the game soundtrack. Since the game is based in the western era, the music is, western music. Not only there's the typical background instrumental music in video games that are composed for it, but there is actual songs where a man sings. One of my favorites is a song called So Far Away, by Jose Gonzalez. It is a beautifully composed song, and plays in the game when you first reach Mexico. Click here for the Mexico scene. As you're watching, just imagine how it is to be playing that game, and seeing yourself in his shoes. I really love this game, because it gives me the feeling of what the past was like, and sometimes I wish that I could've lived such an adventrous life such as John Marston. I would love to be able to live freely, and travel on a horse like him as you save others, and enjoy the view as you go.

2: The graphics.

The graphics are nothing compared to nowaday games, but I play this game more than I play newer gen games, such as Grand Theft Auto V, for example. Yes, Grand Theft Auto V is way better looking than RDR in graphics, but nothing can beat the experience of going back and playing a game that brings back great memories of watching westerns with my grandpa. I don't care if the graphics look like "PS1 graphics" in other people's opinions, the emotions I get from playing this game are priceless. It's the only game I've ever seen from Rockstar Games that isn't brutally violent to the point that there's literally no plot, only violence. To me, the graphics are perfect enough. They don't burn my eyes out like PS4 graphics do, and that's enough for me to be satisfied.

3: The main character himself, and his personality.

If you ever enjoyed watching westerns, or still do, I suggest you buy this game and try it out. It's a really amazing game, and the main character is my favorite video game character of all time, because he goes through hell and back, and in the end, he dies as a worthy man. Imperfect characters are characters you can relate to. They are more realisitic in the sense, as nobody is perfect, and everyone struggles through something, no matter how big or small, no matter how serious or ridiculous. No world is an utopia, either, (especially ours) and I don't see the fun in playing a game where everything turns out just fine. Boring. John Marston is a hard working man. He's gone through hell, and is still kicking. He had a family, and made a mistake and had them taken away from him. Instead of just giving up then, he woke up, and began to fix through the biggest mistake he could've ever caused. In the end, all of his hard work has proven to the law enforcement that he's changed, and finally John Marston gets to retire, and relax at home with his family, and raise his son that he hasn't seen in so long. Not all stories have a happy ending. Unfortunately, this one does not have a happy ending. The law enforcement used him for dirty work, and in the end, when they had no more use of him, they berid of him. That was the worst part of Red Dead Redemption. I never finished the story because I didn't want him to die.

4: RDR Multiplayer

The multiplayer option in RDR is pretty basic. You have a ranking system, and as you rank up, you unlock mounts, characters and various weapons. I'm all about custom characters, and unfortunately you cannot customize your character, but you get a large variety of characters to choose from once you start unlocking things through leveling up. It's not too bad, either, because I can play as John Marston in RDR multiplayer mode (and a matter of fact, I have that set as my character.) Back when RDR was updated frequently, before Rockstar Games abandoned it, it was very lively with players in online sessions. I don't see many around nowadays, but it's beneficial for me, because I don't got to worry about some trolls coming around and being rowdy with me. All in all, the online multiplayer is glitchy, but not in a way that prevents you from being able to play it. Just a hell of a lot of hilarious glitches that occur. Once, I was playing with a couple of my online friends, and a carriage being controlled by CPUs were floating up in the sky. Eventually the horses fell from the sky and died, it was creepy! There's this very interesting glitch that helps with quick rank ups, since it takes forever to rank up. The ranking system is pretty complicated. I'll try to explain this the best I can, and show through an example through a table in case if my explanation isn't clear enough. The highest rank is Legendary 4. But, to get to a Legendary rank, you have to get up to level 50. It will ask if you want to go over to Legendary, but the only thing is you start over at rank 1. In this case, it's Legendary Rank 1. So, if you really want to be the highest rank there is, you have to pretty much rank up 200 times. Some people are at that rank level because the games been out ever since the Playstation 3 came out, but I've not had the game that long, and I don't have to devotion to rank myself up to that point. So, I found this glitch that has never been fixed by Rockstar Games, and still works to this day, and the only way to do it is to go to an online session, and go to Mcfarlane's Farm, and see if you find any "sleeping" people lying around. This is definitely a glitch, you wouldn't find people lying around on the ground. To start the farming glitch, you shoot at one of those people, and keep shooting, and you'll see your xp going up exponentially. You may get the deputies onto you, so you'll have to either fight them off or run off and come back for more xp farming. I started the xp farming up, and kept my game idle as I went and spent time doing otherwise, and came back about an hour later to see that my rank was 30+ more than it was before I started this glitch. This glitch all started because a bunch of people hacked the online sessions so that they could be OP. Somehow it's still in the game, but for everyone, not just the hackers.

I like free roam games, because I enjoy travelling around the world that is in that game. It gives you freedom, and I especially enjoy that with other people, like my friends in particular. I used to play this game all the time with my friends. We'd go around and mess with gangs, and mess around with the wild boars. I think it's funny when the boars hit me down, and my friend always tried to shoot the boar, but I didn't want it killed, I thought, and still think, they are adorable, despite the fact that they always kill my character. Their squeals sound cute, but yet deadly. Also, one of my favorite things to do to screw around in RDR multiplayer is to piss off the bulls. I think they sound funny when they get pissed, I usually turn up the volume to 40 on my TV when pissing them off!! My little brother, that's 10, gets a kick out of that! I would never hurt an animal in real life, but it just is way too funny to hear them get mad in the game!
